Uber now includes the option to schedule a ride 5 minutes to 30 days in advance using the Scheduled Rides feature.
The Scheduled Rides feature allows you to book a trip in advance by selecting a 10-minute pickup window. The driver will be requested on your behalf and will arrive in the 10-minute window you’ve selected. In the case where a driver is not available, you’ll be notified.
Please be ready to leave at the beginning of the 10-minute pickup window you’ve specified.
You can change or cancel your request at any point before being matched with a driver without any charge. Normal cancellation fees apply once you have been matched with a driver.
You can schedule a ride in nearly all cities where Uber is available. If the area you’re attempting to schedule a pickup from isn’t available, the schedule button may not appear, or you may receive an error message telling you scheduling isn’t available in that area.
You can use Scheduled Rides for trips to the airport, but they are not currently available when leaving an airport. If you’re leaving an airport, you can still request a ride on-demand as you normally would.
You can schedule a ride through the app 24/7.
Scheduled Rides pricing is similar to on-demand trip pricing and is based on duration, distance, traffic, and demand. When you schedule a ride at least 60 minutes in advance, your price will be locked in ahead of time. If you schedule less than 60 minutes in advance, you’ll receive a fare estimate, and if dynamic pricing is in effect, you’ll be notified via a push notification of your updated fare when your driver is assigned to you.
Reservation fees are also included on scheduled rides as a fee for the convenience and reliability that scheduling a ride in advance provides. When you schedule at least an hour in advance, the price of your trip will be locked and you won’t be subject to dynamic pricing on your trip. Reservation fees are included in the price you see before requesting a ride.
Time and distance pricing does not apply to Uber Reserve, which is paid as an upfront fare.
